Former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray becomes first ever NFL QB to do this through 8 games

Former Oklahoma Sooners QB Kyler Murray is the first player in NFL history to accomplish this feat through a team’s first eight games.

Former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is having the exact opposite of a sophomore slump in his second year in the NFL.

He’s already picked up the honor of NFC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season through just eight Arizona Cardinals games, and has been considered an outside MVP contender all year.

It isn’t hard to figure out why, as Murray is the first player in NFL history to throw for over 2000 yards and run for over 500 yards in his team’s first eight games.

On Sunday, he put up a sizzling stat line of 21/26 passing for 283 yards and three touchdowns without an interception while also adding another 106 yards on the ground with a rushing score.

Despite that, the Cardinals lost to Miami 34-31 to fall to 5-3 on the season.

Still right in the thick of the playoff race, Arizona will next host Buffalo on Sunday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. CT.
