It hasn’t taken long for 2020 first round pick Kenneth Murray to begin turning heads. The former Oklahoma and current Los Angeles Chargers LB is already drawing praise from his coach after just a few days of practice.
Chargers defensive coordinator, Gus Bradley raved on Murray’s ability to adjust to his new role in LA. Murray spied the QB or picked up the RB from the middle of the field for most of last season. but is now beginning to pick up true coverage techniques.
An NFL team can be a difficult time for a linebacker to learn how and when to backpedal into coverage or to completely drop back. But Bradley says that Murray’s progress in that regard is better than even he expected.

Mentions how he spied the QB a ton in college and hasn't shown to be behind in zone coverages responsibilities.

Bradley also mentioned that Murray is currently focusing on learning a single linebacker spot. Once he gets an understanding of that position down, he is likely to move around more.
#Chargers DC Gus Bradley says they're trying to lock Kenneth Murray in at a single linebacker position to get a better understanding of what he can do the best and give him some consistency early on.
Mentions they're moving Perryman and Tranquill around to keep Murray put.

Murray inked his rookie deal at the end of July and has wasted no time making his presence on the defense known.
Last month, NFL Draft Media Analyst Lance Zierlein picked Murray as his No. 2 candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
