Chris Finke got to know Ian Book very well during his time at Notre Dame. The former Irish receiver, punt returner and captain furthered his experience with Book and also caught passes from Trevor Lawrence during recent pro days. Now, Finke will show what he’s got in the NFL after signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. This comes one season after signing with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted rookie in 2020 and being part of their practice squad.
Finke, nicknamed “The Slippery Fox”, was a regular for Notre Dame’s receiving corps from 2016 to 2019. In four years of game action, he had 106 receptions for 1,251 yards and eight touchdowns. During the Irish’s 2018 win over USC, he caught seven passes for 86 yards, setting career highs in both categories (though he tied his seven-reception mark in 2019 against Boston College). His loan two-touchdown game came in the Irish’s 2019 victory over Duke.
