This current transfer season has seen multiple former Notre Dame players land at one of the newest members of the ACC, and it happened again this weekend.
Cornerback [autotag]Jaden Mickey[/autotag] opted to enter the portal mid-season, but still stuck around with the team while not being a part of the Irish. On Saturday, he joined defensive end Tyson Ford in transferring to the California Golden Bears.
Mickey decided to be closer to home to potentially finish out his collegiate career, as in his announcement he said that his decision was for his mother who is battling colon cancer.
It makes plenty of sense for him to be closer to his family, especially due to his mother’s condition. She most likely wasn’t able to see him play much while in South Bend, and now that Mickey is suiting up for Cal, she should be able to make some games.
We wish Mickey the best, as he continues his collegiate career with the Golden Bears.
