In a week we’ve seen plenty of coaching moves a man that was on Notre Dame’s coaching staff not long ago is joining the staff at a regular Fighting Irish opponent.
Chip Long, who coordinated Notre Dame’s offense from 2017-2019 and most recently was the offensive coordinator at Tulane, is joining the Georgia Tech coaching staff according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
Just spoke to Tulane OC Chip Long. He is headed to Georgia Tech to become the offensive coordinator.

If you need further confirmation, Long has already updated his Twitter bio to read “Offensive Coordinator of Georgia Tech Football” and has updated his background picture to that of Bobby Dodd Stadium on Georgia Tech’s campus.
Long was not retained by Kelly and Notre Dame following the 2019 regular season when his position eventually was filled by former Fighting Irish quarterback Tommy Rees who will remain as a part of Marcus Freeman’s first staff.
