The Miami Dolphins have their attention set on the 2-8-1 Cincinnati Bengals this week, hoping that a return to Hard Rock Stadium this Sunday will help position Miami to secure an 8-4 record, which would be their best 12 game start since the 2003 season. Miami, regardless of which quarterback takes the snaps, will be heavily favored against the Joe Burrow-less Bengals, who saw their own 1st-round quarterback go down with a severe knee injury in November — prematurely ending his season and costing the football realm of a rematch between the top two quarterbacks of the 2020 NFL Draft.
But the Dolphins biggest test of the season will come the following week — when the biggest test in all of football comes to town. The Dolphins will be facing off against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 14. It will serve as a daunting litmus test for the Dolphins to see just how well they measure up to the cream of the crop.
At least one former NFL star seems to think Miami will be up to the challenge. Former All-Pro wide receiver Chad Johnson recently picked the Dolphins to not just show well but to actually upset the Chiefs in South Florida.

Johnson has expressed his enthusiasm for the Dolphins team on a number of occasions, so hearing that he’s willing to ‘guarantee’ a Dolphins win isn’t totally out of left field — and Johnson and fellow former star receiver Terrell Owens make interesting points about the construction of this Dolphins team and how it could possibly match up against the Chiefs’ offense in just a week and a half.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The Dolphins have a date with the Bengals this weekend that they need to take care of first. And if, a big if for the NFL, the Dolphins take care of business, then we can start getting hyped up about the biggest Dolphins game in recent memory next week between the Dolphins and the Chiefs.
