Sports may be on hold, but one former Spartan is still getting paid.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback–and former Spartan star–Kirk Cousins has signed a two-year extension with the team. The deal will keep him in Minnesota through the 2022 season. Cousins’ agent Mike McCartney posted the news on Twitter.
Congrats to @KirkCousins8 on agreeing to a 2 year extension with the @Vikings

There have been no reports as to the financial figures of the deal. It stands to reason it would be lucrative given that Cousins is on the last year of a then-record breaking three-year $84 million fully guaranteed deal with Minnesota.
Extending the franchise quarterback will most likely allow the Vikings to smooth out Cousins’ cap hit over the next few years while giving their signal caller a bit more financial security.
Cousins has made just over $100 million in his eight-year NFL career, despite making less than $1 million the first four years of his career.
