Ron Burton has been a staple of the Michigan State defense for many years. Burton was hired to East Lansing by former coach Mark Dantonio in 2013, and Burton has served as a defensive line or defensive tackles coach ever since. When the coaching change was made from Dantonio to Tucker, it was rumored that Indiana was poaching the longtime Spartan coach, but Tucker managed to keep Burton in East Lansing.
Following the 2021 season, Tucker and Burton had made the decision to part ways. Burton was loved by many players and fans, but it ultimately was time to move on.
Burton has found a new home, being hired in as the new defensive line coach at Miami University in Ohio of the Mid-American Conference.
We're excited to welcome our new Defensive Line coach, @CoachRonBurton ‼️💪
