Former Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis has been bouncing around a few small projects since leaving his position in East Lansing in 2018.
Hollis has now found a position that will serve the Detroit community in an important fashion. The Detroit Sports Commission announced that Hollis will be taking over as the new chair of the Detroit Sports Organization Corp.
Hollis will aid the city of Detroit in bringing key sporting events back to the city.
The city of Detroit hasn’t hosted a major sporting event since the Final Four in 2009, Hollis will look to change that.
