One team’s loss is another’s gain.
Well, can’t perhaps call it a loss, as it was a trade between the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, where the Giants gave up its star receiver in Odell Beckham Jr., but former Michigan VIPER Jabrill Peppers never really caught on in Cleveland — not surprising given that many Browns fans are also Ohio State fans.
But going to New York, Peppers got something of a new lease on his career, with a 32-yard interception returned for a touchdown to go along with 76 tackles and 5 tackles returned for a loss at the strong safety position.
In fact, he’s done well enough for himself that he had a fifth-year option on his rookie contract, which New York has chosen to pick up.

Peppers has played in 40 total NFL games in his career, having started in all of them.
In addition to playing strong safety, he’s also — like he did in his time at Michigan — returned kicks and punts, with 59 punt returns for 448 yards and 34 kick returns for 749 yards.
