It hasn’t been the torrid start to his career that former Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton had hoped for.
Originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys at No. 28 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, Charlton spent much of his career dealing with injury and not seeing the field. Then, he was dealt to the Miami Dolphins where he managed 5 sacks in 10 games — 5 of which were starts — bringing his career total to 9 sacks overall in 37 appearances.
However, Charlton got some bad news on Thursday, with Miami waiving him, thus he will now be a free agent, capable of signing wherever else he so chooses.
Given his production a year ago, assuming he passes a physical, he should get another opportunity elsewhere.
The Dolphins have waived DE Taco Charlton, a Cowboys first round pick in 2017. He had 5.0 sacks this past season.

It’s not an ideal situation, but given that he was able to show off some production last year, he’ll certainly be signed up quickly.
