A former LSU cornerback found a new home over the weekend, landing in the Big 12.
[autotag]JK Johnson[/autotag] will join Oklahoma State after spending two years with the Tigers. The news was first reported by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Saturday.
Johnson originally signed with Ohio State in 2021. He was with the Buckeyes for two years, earning a significant role in 2022.
He entered the transfer portal after his sophomore campaign and landed in Baton Rouge. Johnson was expected to contribute in 2023 but tore his ACL in camp and missed the entire year.
Upon returning in 2024, Johnson didn’t factor much into LSU’s plans on defense, so it wasn’t a surprise when Johnson hit the transfer portal again.
Johnson brings talent to Oklahoma State as it looks to rebuild its defense. The Cowboys were one of the worst units in the country in 2024 when it came to stopping the pass. Oklahoma State head coach recently hired veteran defensive coordinator Todd Grantham in hopes of turning the unit around.
