Former LSU basketball player Daryl Edwards Jr. was hit by a drunk driver in Houston, Texas on April 7. One person died and four others, including the suspect, were injured in the fatal accident.

Edwards broke both of his legs, his right elbow, his vertebrae and his lower spine.

The former Tiger had plans of playing pro overseas this upcoming May before tragedy struck.

Edwards’ family has set up a GoFundMe page where they have hopes of raising $80,000. All of which will be used to help pay for Edwards’s recovery process and treatment.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the page has raised upwards of $20,467, with the biggest donation being from former teammate and LSU Tiger, Tremont Waters.

Waters donated $2,000 to the cause.

“I donated because Daryl is a solid dude…we need to get him back on his feet,” Waters commented on his donation.

Former teammates are also helping to spread the word of the GoFundMe page via social media with Skylar Mays tweeting,

“Please help my brother shake back! Thank y’all.”

The Tigers stick together, especially in times of need. The link to the GoFundMe page can be found below.
