Azzanni came to New York in 2023 following five seasons in Denver, including 2022 under then-head coach and Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. The Jets hired Shawn Jefferson, formerly of the Carolina Panthers, as their new wide receivers coach last week.
Garrett Wilson enjoyed a second straight 1,000-yard season under Azzanni in 2023, however the next highest for wide receivers was Allen Lazard with 311 and he was a healthy scratch in two games last season.
Azzanni joins a group in Pittsburgh that includes two players that reached at least 700 receiving yards in 2023, including 1,140 for George Pickens.
The Jets will see Azzanni and the Steelers in 2024 in Pittsburgh after both teams finished third in their respective divisions.
