Former Iowa Hawkeye Geno Stone putting on electric NFL campaign for the Baltimore Ravens

Started in black and gold and now in black and purple. Former Iowa Hawkeye and now Baltimore Raven Geno Stone is having a great NFL season.

Consistency is key and goes hand in hand with coming from the Iowa Hawkeyes. If nothing else, they produce consistent and fundamentally based players each year.

Next up for the Hawkeyes trying to do that is Cooper DeJean, who recently declared for the NFL draft. He is looking to join a group of Hawkeyes having great NFL success in the secondary.

One of those players is current Baltimore Ravens safety Geno Stone. The former Hawkeye had a great career for Iowa and has parlayed that into a long, fruitful NFL career.

Stone’s 2023-24 campaign might be among his best yet. Pro Football Focus applauded his performance by stamping him with their third-highest coverage grade in the AFC.

Geno Stone has been a key contributor in the Ravens securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC as they head into the playoffs. This season, he has 68 tackles, nine pass breakups, and seven interceptions.

The most impressive stat of the trio may be that opposing quarterbacks have just a 48.3 passer rating when targeting him. For context, Stone’s quarterback, Lamar Jackson, has a season passer rating of 102.3.

Per ESPN’s tracking of all 57 quarterbacks who have enough snaps to register a passer rating, the lowest is 49.5. Essentially, Geno Stone is allowing a worse passer rating than any NFL quarterback this season.
