A former Nebraska defensive back has found his new school. Myles Farmer will transfer to Syracuse for the 2023 college football season.
Head coach Matt Rhule suspended Farmer as fall camp began for the Huskers. Rhule said to the media on Monday that Farmer’s suspension was for simple things, nothing major.
“I love Myles,” Rhule said. “He’s a competitive kid. It’s so hard when you have a new coach and they have different standards than you’re used to, so I get that. We’ve been patient with a lot of guys. We’ll see what happens with Myles. The ball’s in his court. We’d love him to be here, but whatever he wants to do, I respect him as a man. So whatever he decides, I understand.”
Farmer was also cited by Lincoln police with a DUI back in November 2022 and spent seven days on house arrest after pleading no contest to the charge.
In 11 games last season, Farmer recorded 73 tackles which was good enough for second on the team. In his four seasons at Nebraska, Farmer played in 31 games and earned 16 starts.
He recorded 110 tackles, eight passes defended, and four interceptions. Farmer will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
