Former Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers, who is now with the Las Vegas Raiders, is already emerging as a dynamic playmaker in the NFL. Bowers has made several splash plays in training camp and is projected to start for the Raiders as rookie.
The Raiders are expected to rely on two tight end sets this season featuring Bowers and second-year tight end Michael Mayer. Bowers and Mayer have different skills with Bowers being more versatile.
“Bowers has arguably been Las Vegas’ most reliable weapon as the team enters the midway point of training camp,” said Case Keefer of the Las Vegas Sun. That’s high praise for Bowers. Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is one of the best pass catchers in the NFL.
Bowers has impressed his teammates with his combination of size and speed. “You’ve got to be locked in because he’s different,” said NFL veteran cornerback Nate Hobbs on Brock Bowers. “He’s a physical specimen.”
Here’s a look at one of Brock Bowers’ recent top highlights from training camp.
#Raiders CB Nate Hobbs says Brock Bowers' speed can make the former Georgia star TE a matchup nightmare.
"I had no clue. Usually when I get on a tight end I could let off or jog a little bit. With him, you got to be locked in because he's different." pic.twitter.com/VVq8XUlhv0

The Las Vegas Raiders received excellent value when they drafted Bowers with the No. 13 pick of the 2024 NFL draft. Bowers should be one of the top impact rookies in the NFL.
However, Las Vegas’ quarterback situation is murky entering 2024. The Raiders are expected to start either Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell this season. Neither of Las Vegas’ quarterback options are ideal considering the Raiders have to play Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs twice per season.
