Former Georgetown guard Mac McClung chooses transfer destination

Former Georgetown guard Mac McClung chooses transfer destination.

Georgetown transfer Mac McClung has announced his new college home, and he will be moving south to the Big 12 to play for Texas Tech.

McClung released his top seven last week, with Tennessee not included. It is unclear whether the Vols made a significant effort to bring in McClung, but his Knoxville connections immediately drew speculation that he would join UT once he announced his transfer.

McClung’s sister, Anna, is a former Tennessee soccer player and his hometown of Gate City, Virginia is less than a two hour drive from Knoxville.

Texas Tech gets a guard that averaged over 15 points per game in the 2019-20 season, while Tennessee returns most of its production from last season and brings in a top five recruiting class.
