Former Florida State wide receiver will visit Texas A&M next week

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Texas A&M will host former Florida State wide receiver Malik Benson next week

Earlier this week, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko set up a visit with veteran wide receiver Malik Benson, who spent the 2024 season with Florida State after transferring to Alabama the year prior.

As KC Concepcion, a transfer receiver from North Carolina State, approaches his decision, it’s clear that the Aggies coaching staff made a wise choice in targeting a player who can deliver immediate impact and leadership to a youthful but promising 2025 wide receiver group.

While a visit is confirmed, ESPN insider Pete Thamel reported that Elko and his staff would host Benson during the dead period next week, as Benson’s management group confirmed.

During the 2024 season, the former Alabama wideout recorded 25 receptions for 311 yards and a touchdown, including a 12.4 reception average during his final season with the Seminoles.

Standing at 6-1 and nearly 200 pounds, Benson is a clean route runner with run-after-catch ability, earning a 60.3 receiving grade per Pro Football Focus. Benson was the No. 1-ranked JUCO prospect before committing to Alabama, so it’s clear his skillset remains intact and needs a change of venue before eventually heading to the NFL.
