A former UNC basketball recruiting target is back on the market.
Five-star guard Robert Dillingham revealed on his Instagram page that he is decommitting from NC State just a few months after pledging his commitment to Kevin Keatts’ program. Dillingham will still consider the Wolfpack but is reopening his recruitment moving forward.
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Dillingham is a Charlotte native that moved out to California to play for the new Donda Academy created by Kanye West. He’s ranked as a top 10 player in the 2023 class and the No. 1 point guard in the country per 247Sports.

Dillingham has a total of 21 offers and received his offer from Roy Williams and UNC back on Christmas in 2020. The Tar Heels made a strong push but as soon as Hubert Davis was hired, they appeared to back off a bit.
The recruit eventually committed to NC State over Memphis, Kentucky, and other programs.
It’s hard to tell if UNC will go back into this recruitment and be a contender but it’s certainly something to monitor moving forward.
