A second member of the 2020 Atlanta Falcons coaching staff may be on the verge of landing a coordinator gig. Former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn was recently hired by the Dallas Cowboys to be their new defensive coordinator and now Atlanta’s former interim coach, Raheem Morris, is the favorite to take over the Los Angeles Rams’ defense in 2021.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed an earlier report on Tuesday that the Rams were focusing on Morris to fill the vacancy at defensive coordinator left by Brandon Staley.
A potential big hire for the #Rams, as Raheem Morris was the target in several other places. https://t.co/gvds9UVZOp

Morris has already been linked to other jobs, and was in talks with Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer to fill the same position on Jacksonville’s coaching staff. While NFL analysts were expecting a deal to be reached on Tuesday, it hasn’t yet come together.
Considering Morris’ experience as a head coach for two different franchises, along with his background coaching both offense and defense for the Falcons, it’s no surprise he’s a hot candidate this offseason.
