The Miami Dolphins are not the only team in the NFL churning through the bottom of their roster — and even Miami Dolphins leftovers are able to get into the action. The 2019 NFC champion San Francisco 49ers signed former Miami Dolphins center Jake Brendel to their roster yesterday — adding another former Dolphin to the team’s roster.
Previously, the 49ers touted former Dolphins Earl Mitchell and Raheem Mostert. But not, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the 49ers have tacked Brendel onto their roster as well.

Brendel’s only NFL action to date has come with the Dolphins, appearing in 21 games for Miami and logging 3 starts for the Dolphins in 2018. But when you’re let go from returning to start for the Dolphins’ offensive line, of all teams, it’s hardly a promising omen of good fortunes ahead.
Brendel bounced between Denver, Baltimore and now San Francisco after leaving Miami last offseason — here’s hoping perhaps he’ll get a chance to stick with the 49ers as a depth option along their offensive line.
