Former Clemson defensive end A.J. Hoffler has found his new college home, staying within the ACC and set to face the Tigers in 2025 when Georgia Tech hosts Clemson.
Hoffler, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound sophomore, entered the transfer portal last week and announced his commitment to the Yellow Jackets shortly after. He brings two years of eligibility to Georgia Tech.
During his two seasons at Clemson (2023-24), Hoffler recorded 17 tackles (1.5 for loss) and two pass breakups across 319 defensive snaps in 21 games. In the 2024 season alone, he played in 14 games, logging 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 245 snaps.
A former four-star recruit from Woodward Academy in Georgia, Hoffler was ranked as the No. 37 edge defender and No. 312 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by 247Sports Composite. In high school, he totaled 90 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and six forced fumbles, showcasing his potential as a disruptive playmaker.
Hoffler’s move to Georgia Tech adds depth and experience to the Yellow Jackets’ defensive line as they prepare for the 2025 season.
