Former Kansas City Chiefs RB LeSean McCoy has found his home for the 2020 NFL season.
As first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCoy is in agreement on a one-year deal with to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who seem to be compiling veteran talent. They, of course, signed Tom Brady this offseason and added Rob Gronkowski in trade with the New England Patriots. Now they’ll add Shady to complement those players.
“He’s very excited to play with established vets like Brady and Gronk in trying to win another championship,” McCoy’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter.

McCoy signed a one-year deal to join the Chiefs after being released by the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2019 season. He was a late addition to Kansas City, signing with the team in late August.
In 2019, McCoy appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs, starting a total of nine games. During that span, he carried the ball 101 times for 465 yards and four touchdowns. He added 28 receptions for 181 yards and touchdown too. McCoy didn’t play during the postseason run and was a healthy scratch during Super Bowl LIV.
McCoy recently appeared on NFL Network and in an interview stressed that the most important thing for him was to find a team that was competing to win a championship. He hopes to find that with Tampa Bay and perhaps participate in the postseason with them.
He’ll also get a crack at his old team as the Chiefs will head to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers on Nov. 29 in Week 12 of the 2020 season.
