It seems former Boston Celtics reserve big man Vincent Poirier isn’t to happy about his exit from the Philadelphia 76ers, his eventual landing spot in the offseason after the Celtics moved on from the French big man after his time in Boston turned out to be a poor fit.
Things didn’t go much better with the Sixers, the former Celtic just getting on the court for Philly a total of ten times in his brief tenure as a 76er. But it wasn’t the sparse opportunity that bothered Vinny Sexpants — as he came to be known by his fans in Boston — but the way he was treated by fellow Celtics alumnus and now Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers.
Rivers, who formerly coached Boston to its last title in 2008 in the middle of a long stint as the team’s head coach, evidently forgot or avoided contacting Poirier with a parting message after the French big was traded away at the 2021 NBA deadline.
