One former Bruin made some NCAA college basketball news this week.
Former UCLA forward Mac Etienne announced his transfer commitment to his third school in his college basketball career. Etienne, injured in his freshman year with an ACL injury, committed to play at La Salle University after a stint with DePaul.
During his time with the Bruins, Etienne played 45 games, starting only one. Etienne averaged only 1.6 points and .2 assists. Etienne was reclassified due to the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually transferred after the 2022-2023 season.
At DePaul, Etienne put up similar statistics to his production at UCLA before entering the transfer portal once again. A former Top-100 recruit in the country, Etienne will likely play out the remainder of his eligibility with La Salle, hoping to find his footing and more playing time than his career-average 11.3 minutes per game.

This season, the Bruins will be without Adem Bona, who was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, and look for future depth at the power forward and center position.
With their former Top-100 prospect no longer with the program, his lack of production and transfer could be a consequential omission from their roster as they try to build on their 2023-2024 campaign in their first season in the BIG 10.
