Former Bills WR Marquise Goodwin misses qualifying bid for Tokyo Olympics

Ex-Bills WR Marquise Goodwin fell short of making it to the Olympics:

Marquise Goodwin, the former Buffalo Bills wide receiver who was a third-round pick of the team in 2013, fell short of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics over the weekend.

Goodwin has been a noted track and field athlete throughout his football career, competing in the long jump. While attempting to make the United States Olympic team, the 30-year-old finished 19th out of 24 jumpers this weekend, meaning he did not make the cut.

Goodwin’s best jump was 24 feet 10 inches. The top-12 advanced to the finals of the U.S. Trails which will be held on Sunday.

In 2012 prior to joining the Bills, Goodwin did qualify for that year’s Olympic Games. He went on to finish 10th at the London Olympics. In 2016, Goodwin also did not qualify for that year’s Olympics.

A member of the Bills throughout his rookie contract until 2016, Goodwin went on to play for the 49ers from 2017-2019 and then opted out of playing last season due to COVID-19. He currently is on the Bears roster.
