It’s always interesting to check in on former Cincinnati Bengals and there is an interesting situation developing for one with the New England Patriots.
Not all that long ago, Ben Brown out of Ole Miss was an undrafted free agent with the Bengals who seemed like he could have a bright future before going to injured reserve.
Fast forward to now, Brown just earned the start at center for the Patriots over the weekend.
And in the aftermath of Brown’s first start? According to CLNS Media’s Taylor Kyles, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said Brown was the team’s best lineman during the game against the Texans.
Make no mistake, the Bengals are happy with Ted Karras as the starter in front of Joe Burrow. Seventh-round rookie Matt Lee looks like he could develop into a possible starter, too.
But Brown, 26, always felt like a guy who could break out, too. That’s now happening elsewhere in the AFC.
