Former Auburn wide receiver [autotag]Caleb Burton[/autotag] did not produce as much as he nor Auburn had intended. Following the 2024 season, Burton entered the transfer portal hoping to get a fresh opportunity with a new program.
Wednesday, his destination was revealed.
Wednesday, Burton shared on X (Twitter) that he will be heading north for his next college destination. He will join Jim Mora’s roster at UConn, an up-and-coming program coming off a nine-win season and a Wasabi Fenway Bowl victory over North Carolina.
After a solid freshman campaign in 2023, when he caught 16 passes for 226 yards, his production dropped drastically in 2024. He caught just 2 passes for 49 yards, both receptions coming in Auburn’s season-opener vs. Alabama A&M.
According to Pro Football Focus, Burton caught 18 of 30 targeted passes with only one drop over two seasons on the Plains. The longest catch of his Auburn career covered 53 yards and he added 146 yards after catch to his total.
Burton has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
