Set to travel to Tuscaloosa in Week 1, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have announced that TJ Finley will start at quarterback for the program when they play the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.
A familiar face to Alabama fans, Finley transferred to Western Kentucky this past offseason from Texas State, but is likely remembered most from his time at LSU and Auburn where he started games at quarterback for both.
At LSU, Finley appeared in five games in 2020 as a true freshman, but would transfer to Auburn at seasons end where he would spend the 2021-22 years.
Now at Western Kentucky however, Finley is set to make his third-career start against Alabama on Saturday, with the experienced signal caller having struggled against the Crimson Tide previously.
While at LSU, Finley started against Alabama in 2020, a game in which he completed 14-of-28 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in the loss, while also rushing for -12 yards on six carries.
At Auburn, Finley started against Alabama in 2021, completing 17-of-26 passes for 137 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, while also rushing for -42 yards on seven attempts.
With the Crimson Tide winning both games previously, could Alabama make it three wins over Finley this Saturday?
