Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has agreed in principle to a four-year contract extension with the Miami Dolphins. The deal is reportedly worth $212.4 million.
The two sides had been working on a deal for several months following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season. Now, the Dolphins and Tagovailoa can breathe a sigh of relief. Tagovailoa got a new contract and the Dolphins now have their franchise quarterback secured for at least four more years.
Tagovailoa struggled early on in his NFL career. However, he has shown tremendous improvement over the last two seasons with the franchise. Last season, Tagovailoa passed for 4,624 yards with 29 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions.
The Dolphins organization has worked diligently to give Tagovailoa the necessary weapons at the skilled positions. Tagovailoa seems to be on the right track to becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The Dolphins are locked in with the Hawaiian native. Could Tagovailoa lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl appearance throughout the next four seasons?
