Many Alabama fans will remember former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims for his touchdown pass to DeAndrew White against LSU to win the game in overtime in 2014. However, he helped the Crimson Tide win multiple other key games as well.
Now, after playing professional football for six years, Sims has decided to retire from football.
The news was reported by Al.com’s Michael Casagrande. The Georgia native last played for the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League. During his professional career, he spent time in both the CFL and NFL. Sims played for the Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also made the practice squads for the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sims is calling it a career but will always be remembered for being the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide in 2014. He won the job over the eventual national champion and former Alabama quarterback Jake Coker. Roll Tide Wire wishes Sims the best in his future endeavors.
