Former Alabama linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who was a member of the Crimson Tide from 2002-2005, fell just short of winning a Super Bowl ring as the San Francisco 49ers inside linebacker coach.
Ryans was the 2005 SEC defensive player of the year at Alabama and had even more success in the NFL, where he won the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the year Award and was named to two Pro Bowls.
After a nine-year career in the NFL, Ryans joined the 49ers coaching staff in 2017 and has helped build the defense to it’s elite reputation it has today.
His high performance as a coach could mean that he’d like to rise up the ranks and receive a promotion.
Well, maybe he should take a page out of his former teammate’s, Freddie Roach, book and rejoin Alabama as a coach.
Roach recently joined the Alabama staff in the 2020 college football offseason and has already hit the recruiting trail.

If Ryans looks to go all the way and win a championship ring, he should join Saban and Roach at Alabama.
