Former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad on Monday morning. Evans had been a free agent since finishing the 2022 season with the Atlanta Falcons.
Evans has been in the NFL since 2018. The Alabama native spent the first four seasons of his professional career as a member of the Tennessee Titans. Evans recorded 317 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and three sacks with the Titans.
Following the conclusion of the 2021 season, Evans became a free agent. He signed a one-year contract with the Falcons.
In one season with the Falcons, Evans tallied 159 tackles, six tackles for loss, and two sacks.
Surprisingly, Evans was not signed after becoming a free agent during the offseason. Now, he will have the opportunity to earn a roster spot with the Eagles organization. With starting linebacker Nakobe Dean suffering an injury, Evans could be elevated to the active roster sooner rather than later.
With Eagles LB Nakobe Dean out for about a month due to a foot injury, Philadelphia is signing former Titans’ first-round pick, LB Rashaan Evans, to its practice squad, per sources.
