Former Alabama great named to 2024 SEC Football Legends Class

The former Alabama great was named to the 2024 SEC Football Legends Class.

On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference officially announced their annual Football Legends Class for 2024, which included one former player or coach from all 16 SEC programs represented.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide player represented was offensive lineman Barrett Jones, who was a four-year starter for the program from 2009-12.

One of the greatest offensive linemen in Alabama football history, Jones had 50 total starts during his Crimson Tide career, which came at three different positions over that four-year span. Jones, who won the 2011 Outland Trophy for the nation’s top interior offensive lineman, was also a three-time national champion at Alabama, a two-time First Team All-American, and was a fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

The former Alabama great will be honored around the SEC Championship Game in December alongside 15 other former players and coaches from across the conference’s 16 teams. This will take place from December 6-7 at the 2024 SEC Football “Weekend of Champions” in Atlanta, Georgia.
