Former Alabama edge rusher Terrell Lewis was signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad on Tuesday. The news was first reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Lewis spent the 2022 season playing for the Chicago Bears.

Lewis spent three seasons at Alabama. During that time, he recorded 47 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Following the conclusion of his junior season, Lewis entered the 2020 NFL Draft.

Lewis was selected in the third round by the Los Angeles Rams. There, Lewis spent three seasons. As a Ram, Lewis tallied 40 tackles and six sacks.

The Rams decided to part ways with Lewis during his third season with the organization. Soon after being waived, Lewis was signed to the Bears practice squad.

Following the 2023 preseason, Lewis was waived by the Bears. Now, Lewis will be a member of the Saints practice squad. He will have the opportunity to work his way up to the active roster over time. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see if he can create a role for himself on the Saints roster.
