Recently, former Alabama safety and sideline reporter Rashad Johnson was hired as a defensive assistant by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, the Crimson Tide appeared to have found an interim replacement. That is former Alabama defensive back, Cory Reamer. The Crimson Tide Sports Network was the first to report the news regarding Reamer.
He will serve as the interim sideline reporter for Alabama’s week two matchup against Texas. It is also worth noting that Alabama is searching for a permanent replacement after Johnson’s departure.
Reamer spent four seasons playing defensive back for the Crimson Tide. In 42 career games, he recorded 88 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and three sacks. Despite going undrafted in the 2010 NFL draft, he went on to sign as an undrafted agent with the New York Jets. He did impress Jets head coach Rex Ryan during rookie minicamp. Nonetheless, he was waived on September 4, 2010.
