Former Alabama CB Brandon Turnage announces transfer destination

Former Alabama cornerback Brandon Turnage has announced where he will be finishing his college career. Check it out.

Well, Brandon Turnage will be staying in the SEC. After entering his name into the transfer portal last week, the now former Alabama cornerback has determined where he’ll finish his college career.

Based off the Instragram post Turnage shared on Friday night, he’ll be taking his talents to Athens and will become a member of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Some may view it as an interesting choice, but Kirby Smart did just lose two of his starting cornerbacks to the 2021 NFL draft.

Eric Stokes was taken by the Green Bay Packers (No. 29 overall) in the first round, while Tyson Campbell was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first pick in the second round (No. 33).

Other members in Georgia’s secondary were drafted too, including Richard LeCounte III and Mark Webb.

Add that with Turnage getting passed on the depth chart by Ga’Quincy “Kool Aid” McKinstry and a couple others, it’s hard to blame him for wanting to go somewhere that will give him a better shot to get on the field.

After seeing Alabama take advantage of the new one-time transfer rule with an SEC talent in former Tennessee linebacker Henry To’o To’o, we now see the other side of things.

Granted, Nick Saban did say it would be depth players leaving with impact starters arriving. So far, that has held true.
