Former Aggies OL Matthew Wykoff has found a new home for 2023

Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Mattew Wykoff has reportedly transferred to the University of California, Berkeley

Texas A&M received word that former rotational offensive lineman Matthew Wykoff would enter the transfer portal back on Apr. 12, and less than a month after the news broke, the redshirt sophomore has found a new home.

On Tuesday, May 2, it was reported that Wykoff will continue his collegiate playing career at the University of California, Berkeley, where he will surely contend for the starting center position on the Golden Bears O-line ahead of the 2023 season.

Wykoff’s departure from the program didn’t create a significant blow to the Aggie’s depth, though his starting experience after taking over for the injured starting center Bryce Foster in the midst of the 2022 campaign is notable, redhshirt freshman Mark Nabou shined in his role at center during the early parts of the spring football season, creating an opening for Wykoff to bid the Maroon and White farewell.

As the second opening of the college football transfer portal came to a close on Sunday, Apr. 30, plenty of talent is there for the taking if head coach Jimbo Fisher is still looking for more depth in the trenches.
