Back in the day, the Arizona defense was hyped as the Desert Swarm.
If the Wildcats want to bring that back, they have to keep building up its defense and Arizona just added a piece that should help in a big way.
Former Oregon linebacker Justin Flowe committed to Arizona Sunday night.
When Flowe originally committed to the Ducks out of high school, he was the highest-rated recruit to do so. And after his season debut against Fresno State where he racked up 14 tackles and was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.
After that, he suffered a leg injury and he was never the same. He missed the rest of the 2021 season and under the new coaching staff, Flowe didn’t find consistent playing time, and his game suffered for it.
Oregon had hoped Flowe would return and develop into the kind of player the Ducks thought he would be when he was recruited, but he decided to enter the transfer portal instead.
Shortly after Flowe departed, Oregon was able to replace him with Iowa transfer Jestin Jacobs.
