Another talented Georgia Bulldog has entered the transfer portal after the SEC championship: pass rusher Marvin Jones Jr.
Jones is a former five-star recruit. As a sophomore, Jones recorded 12 total tackles and a sack for Georgia. Now, Jones is looking for a new home. Florida State is expected to be a contender for Jones, whose father played for the Seminoles. Florida State also has a good recent track record of developing pass rushers.
Jones appeared in 12 games for Georgia in 2023 and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Jones’ departure is a significant loss for head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia football. The Bulldogs struggled defending the edge in 2023. Additionally, we consider pass rusher to be one of Georgia’s top positions of need in the transfer portal.
