Fly the W! Iowa’s Wrigley Field triumph over Northwestern in pictures

Fly the W! Iowa moved to 7-2 with a win over Northwestern from inside Wrigley Field. Here’s the best photos from the Hawkeyes’ triumph.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are all alone atop the Big Ten West.

Using their proven formula, Iowa (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) road its defense and special teams to a 10-7 win over Northwestern. When it was all said and done, Drew Stevens’ 52-yard, game-winning field goal had Hawkeye fans jumping for joy.

Iowa’s win also featured a goal line stand, complete with the Wrigley Field playing surface fighting for its life.

“We played with a lot of heart and resolve out there, which is really what the game is all about. Guys kept competing out there, working away at it. Just really proud of the team to be 7-2 right now,” Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz said.

The Hawkeyes host Rutgers this coming Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. Before that, let’s take a look back on Iowa’s gridiron conquest from inside arguably the world’s most iconic baseball stadium.
