Florida’s position in NET rankings unchanged after Alabama loss

The Gators are still a top-30 team in the NET rankings after the OT road loss against Alabama.

It looked like Florida basketball was going to pull off the upset on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday night. But after being knotted up at the end of 40 minutes of play, the Gators simply did not have enough to keep up with the high-flying Tide in the end.

As a result of the road loss, the Orange and Blue remained at No. 29 overall in the NET rankings. Todd Golden’s team now sits between the No. 28 Texas Tech Red Raiders and No. 30 Utah State Utes.

Here’s how the quadrant system breaks things up:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353

The Gators are 2-8 against Quadrant 1 opponents, 4-0 against Quadrant 2 opponents, 7-0 against Quadrant 3 opponents and 5-0 against Quadrant 4 opponents. They hold an 18-8 record overall and an 8-5 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

The Gators return home on Saturday, Feb. 24, to host the Vanderbilt Commodores inside the O’Connell Center. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
