Florida’s odds of making the NCAA Tournament after Kentucky loss, per Tipico

The odds slipped a bit, predictably, after the Kentucky loss.

Florida basketball was bested at home on Saturday by the Kentucky Wildcats as the 2021-22 regular season came to a close. The loss left the Gators with an even 9-9 record in Southeastern Conference play and its NCAA Tournament hopes on life-support.

Coming into the game, the overall consensus was that Florida had an uphill battle to get into the Big Dance while the bookmakers were already feeling pretty bearish about its chances. Now, it will take a deep SEC Tournament run that includes at least one significant upset for the Gators to get back into the discussion.

The Tipico Sportsbook is even more pessimistic than in our previous update that the Gators will make the tournament, setting its betting lines at plus-400 for making it to March Madness while missing out is set at minus-549 as of 11 a.m. EST on Sunday morning.

Florida plays its first game of the SEC Tournament on Thursday against the Texas A&M Aggies, with a tipoff time set for noon EST at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
