Week 2 of college football has quite a spread of offerings for the fans as the 2022 season kicks into full gear, including a marquee matchup between the Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday night. The two SEC schools open up their conference schedule in the Swamp, both entering the game ranking in the top 20 of the two major polls.
Sports Illustrated’s Richard Johnson published his look at the top 10 college football matchups for Week 2 and unsurprisingly included the game between the Gators and the ‘Cats. Sure, the opening week always carries a great deal of hype and hope as a new schedule begins to unfurl, but the follow-up is not too shabby either. Here is what Johnson had to say about UK vs. UF.
The Gators won a hard-fought game over Utah to open the season and now turn their attention to a Kentucky team that outmuscled them last year in Lexington. Quarterback Will Levis is an early NFL draft darling, but with issues in the running back corps and on the offensive line, we’ll see just how much he can lift up the rest of a team in flux around him. Fellow prospect QB [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] brings the explosive plays in spades for UK’s defense to try and coral.
Kentucky at Florida is set to kick off at 7 p.m. EDT on Saturday inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and can be watched on ESPN or heard on the Gators Radio Network.
