No. 3 Florida (27-5, 9-2 SEC) defeated No. 8 Tennessee (21-10, 4-7 SEC), 9-3, Friday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
With the victory, the Gators clinched the series.
Florida led, 3-0, in the first inning. Colby Halter walked with the bases loaded and Matt Prevesk hit a two-run double.
The Gators scored two runs in the second inning on a two-run home run by Josh Rivera. Florida hit four home runs in the game.
Tennessee trailed, 5-2, in the second inning after a two-run home run by Zane Denton.
Wyatt Lankford and Jac Caglianone each hit solo home runs in the fourth inning, extending Florida’s lead, 7-2.
Prevesk’s two-run home run, extended Florida’s lead to 9-2 in the fifth inning.
Griffin Merritt hit an RBI single in the seventh inning, scoring Denton.
