Florida football’s season is waning with only two more games remaining on the schedule — both on the road. Next up for the Orange and Blue are the Vanderbilt Commodores, who they will face on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.
Vandy has long been the perennial doormat in the Southeastern Conference but has remained among the current 14 schools due to its deep history with the league. Last week, the ‘Dores snapped a 26-game losing streak with a road win at the Kentucky Wildcats while the Gators made a statement with a trouncing of the South Carolina Gamecocks at home.
Florida has dominated the all-time series with a 43-10-2 record dating back to 1945. Interestingly, Vanderbilt won the first three games and held the series lead until 1962, when the Gators took the lead for good at seven games to six. The Commodores’ last win came back in 2013 when they snapped a 22-game losing streak in the Swamp, spoiling Florida’s homecoming game.
