Florida to face Wake Forest at ESPN Events Invitational

Gator Nation knew Florida basketball would be playing in the ESPN Events Invitational this year, but now the bracket is set.

The Florida Gators and Wake Forest Demon Deacons are set to face off for the second time in as many years on the hardcourt.

On Thursday, ESPN announced that Florida and Wake Forest will play at 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day as part of the ESPN Events Invitational. The tournament takes place at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Kissimmee, Florida, on Nov. 28.

A consolation game and championship game will be played the following day at 1 and 3:30 p.m. ET, respectively. Minnesota and Wichita State are on the other side of the bracket.

Tickets are now available. Fans can use the code “MAGIC” for a discount through Aug. 28.

“ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, owns and operates a portfolio of collegiate sporting events nationwide. In 2024, the 34-event schedule includes four early-season college football kickoff games, 17 college bowl games, 10 college basketball events, the premier regular-season college softball and gymnastics events, as well as the Band of the Year National Championship.”

Florida Atlantic University won the 2023 ESPN Events Invitational, defeating Virginia Tech, 84-50, to finish on top of an eight-team field, including Texas A&M and Penn State.
