The Cleveland Browns made a move to lock up Juan Thornhill to improve their safety room this offseason. However, with Grant Delpit entering a contract season, and with Ronnie Harrison out the door as well, the long-term outlook of the room still needs answering. The 2023 NFL Draft is a pathway for the Browns to get that answer, and they are meeting with Florida State standout Jammie Robinson today on a pre-draft visit.
Robinson is known for wearing multiple hats. He flashes the versatility to play in the box, in the slot, and at the third level of the defense with success. Despite his size and testing numbers, Robinson remains a sturdy, productive football player as he finished his 2022 campaign with 99 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, and five passes defended.
With just two weeks until the draft, defensive tackle remains a need, another speedy playmaker at wide receiver could be addressed, or safety could also be an early position taken for the Browns. They set themselves up well in free agency to take the best player available as they come on the clock with the 74th overall pick.
I asked Florida State safety Jammie Robinson about how he prepares to wear 3 hats every Saturday. He talked a lot about spending time with both the safeties and corners, and learning tendencies from linebackers as well. pic.twitter.com/cRyVwJLUxV
