Florida co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Patrick Toney is visiting five-star cornerback Cormani McClain’s school on Wednesday.

The spring evaluation period started on April 15, and this week head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] has sent his coaches across the southeast to check out some of Florida’s top targets for this recruiting cycle and next. However, the coaches aren’t allowed to make direct contact with the prospect.

247Sports reported that one recruit the Gators co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach [autotag]Patrick Toney[/autotag] is checking in on Wednesday is five-star cornerback [autotag]Cormani McClain[/autotag] at Lake Gibson in Lakeland, Florida.

McClain is Florida’s top target this cycle regardless of position this cycle. The 247Sports composite rankings have him third-best overall and as the best player at his position.

He has visited the Swamp twice this year with McClain’s most recent visit taking place during Florida’s Orange and Blue game. After the visit, he told reporters that Alabama and the Gators sit at the top of his recruitment currently.

McClain said he wants to take official visits this summer and make a commitment sometime in June.
